Greenhouse Labourer I
As a Labourer you will work closely with the Team Lead to ensure requirements and schedules are adhered to and carried out in a timely manner.
You will be responsible for planting and harvesting flowers and plants. You will be an active ambassador for BFP and operate in accordance with the BFP values.

Prepare soil for planting of bulbs, cuttings, and transplanting.
Handling potted plants/flowers for propagation and packaging.
May operate machinery applicable to the task/role.
Ensures quality outputs of preparing, labeling, packing, wrapping, and preparing of shipments.
Disposing of leftover packing waste and properly storing of materials.
Proactively observe and recognize any issues relating to plants in greenhouse, and packaged goods.
Works collaboratively with managers and growers for task allocation.
Ensure compliance of company policies, procedures relating to safety, employment, and labor standards.
Work areas are to be kept neat, clean, and orderly.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Ability to recognize a wide variety of plant diseases, pest presence, etc.

Experience & Education
Forklift experience is an asset.
Proven ability to foster a team environment.
Positive work history and ability to maintain solid attendance.
Must be knowledgeable in safe handling of products being handled, shipped and received.
Mental & Physical Requirements
Exert up to 15-50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently and 10 pounds of force constantly in order to lift and move product.
Balance, reach and grasp while climbing on a step stool and/or ladder.
Crouch, grasp, and lift product above shoulders in order to lift items from the floor properly.
Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time while performing job responsibilities.
Physical ability to work in conditions typically found in a greenhouse with cold, humidity and varying temperatures, with a fair amount of moisture present.
Required Work Schedule
This position requires an individual to meet the needs of greenhouse for fulfilling orders and as outlined in the employment contract.
Willingness to work extended hours if/when needed.
Working Relationships
Reports to Team Lead and as part of the greenhouse team.
Works closely with peers and other employees and departments in the company.
